Paediatric heart surgery in countries on the road to development needs to look for a certain level in the local medical standard, otherwise there can be no progress.
Also medical aid in heart surgery cannot be sent to countries without a fairly good service in cardiology for diagnosing cardiac malformations; nor to hospitals without rooms for intensive care therapy and sufficiently equipped operating theatres.

Serious consideration must be given to this guide line before selecting the centre or the Country which could benefit from our project.

Moreover since, within a few years, a number of States will enter and form part of the European Union, we feel these should be given our priority, also in consideration of advantages such as geographic vicinity, which means less time and lower costs for travelling.

At the moment the Heart of Children carries out missions in Rumania, Morocco, Ukraine, Albania.
